How it helps

Layers concentric rose-curve rings into a radial mandala pattern.
Set diameter, ring count, petal count, ring scale, rotation step, and an optional center hole.
Each inner ring adds two more petals and rotates, so the layers interlock visually.
Export a laser-ready DXF or SVG. Free, browser-local, nothing uploaded.

Best practices

  • - Start with 2-4 rings — more rings make the innermost petals very small on smaller diameters.
  • - A rotation step between 10° and 20° gives the classic layered-flower look.
  • - Add a center hole if you plan to mount the piece on a spindle or bolt.
  • - Increase the diameter before adding rings if the inner petals look too thin to cut cleanly.

Limitations

  • - It generates rose-curve (rhodonea) mandalas only — no freeform or symmetry-group patterns yet.
  • - All rings share the same shape family; per-ring shape swapping isn't available yet.
  • - Very high ring counts on a small diameter can produce petals too small for your cutter's kerf.

FAQ

What kind of mandala does this make?

It layers concentric rose (rhodonea) curves — r = R·cos(k·θ) — at shrinking radii, each rotated slightly, to build a classic layered-flower mandala.

How do I get more petals?

Increase the Petals field, which sets the outermost ring's petal count. Each inner ring automatically gets two more petals than the ring outside it.

Why is the center hole warning showing?

It appears when the center hole is large relative to your innermost ring's radius, which can clip the smallest petals. Reduce the hole size or ring count.

What materials work?

Plywood, acrylic, cardboard, and leather all work well for laser cutting or engraving this pattern.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The pattern is generated entirely in your browser and the tool is free with no sign-in.
